Celebrating 49 Years!

Seymour Community Church was started in May 1972, by a group of Christians who wanted to reach the community of Seymour with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This small meeting began in the basement of a home and soon grew into the current building and grounds on Old Sevierville Pike.

A bus ministry was added in 1974, to provide transportation to those who otherwise would not be able to attend church. Currently the church operates two buses and three vans.

Children's ministries have always been a major ministry of the church. From a camp ministry during the summers from 1976-1980, to currently AWANA clubs on Wednesday evenings.

Our youth ministry begins with 7th graders through high school. They meet on Wednesday evening.

A school and daycare ministry was started in fall of 1978, to provide a Christian education for Christian young people. The preschool serves ages 3 through 5, and offers before school and after school care. Seymour Community Christian School serves K-12th grade. The school provides a Bible-based education that is designed to meet the needs of the students academically, socially, spiritually. SCCS has 217 graduates throughout the community and area. Both the preschool and SCCS are accredited and approved.

Pete Koster served as pastor from the inception of the church in May of 1972 through August of 2013. Pastor Koster helped guide the church through its transitions over the years and faithfully served the congregation. Pastor Pete is now home with Jesus.
